Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on October 1, 1996. She is known as an actress in Choices (2010). The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2007) and Chrissie Mayr's Content House 2022.
Asia Argento, born in Rome into a family that also includes actors and directors pursued these professions as well. Her first film came out when she was just nine years old old in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she starred as the main character in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo, and was in the ensemble of The Church directed by Michele Soavi. In the following year, she appeared as Nanni Moretti's daughter Red Wood Pigeon It was with Close Friends written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career really took off and she could move on from playing very young girls into larger, more sophisticated roles. It was well received during the Cannes International Film Festival. Daria Nicholodi was one of Argento's favorites actresses and was cast as an orexic kid looking for the killer. Asia's intense and concentrated style of performing was well used in Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato nozze. She co-starred with Carlo Verdone in Perdiamoci di perspective as Arianna an actress who is physically disabled. The complex and demanding character earned her the David di Donatello award for Best actress. She was a part of Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio with Michel Piccoli in which she was awarded a David di Donatello and the Grolla of Oro. In 1994, Asia began the art of directing, and produced two short films as part of the series of the film De Generazione In 1996 she made a documentary of her father and, in 1998, one on the cult director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which won an award at AbelAsia, which was awarded an award at the Rome Film Festival. In 1999, Asia made her feature-directing debut with Scarlet Diva in which she was the main actress as well as the writer of the screenplay. The film was released in on May 1, 2000 in Italy as well as around the globe. The Williamsburg Film festival held in Brooklyn, New York awarded it a top prize.
